Accommodations in Fieldwork: Just Add Water

Scheduled for to 00:00 am in Room 3

Presenter(s)

  • Tamara Mancini with Texas Tech University

Program Summary

Humans draw inspiration from water; wanting to be like the flow when obstacles enter our path. Do we cut through the object or form a new path? Similarly, connecting students to the right fieldwork accommodations presents roadblocks. We cannot just add water and stir. In this session, participants will rise above the current in discussing fieldwork, foresight, collaboration, and persistence.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Recognize the importance of anticipating barriers faced by campus programs.
  2. Understand the need for collaboration in identifying obstacles and implementing tools to mitigate those obstacles.
  3. Appreciate persistence in working through the interactive process with all involved parties.
