Elections for Director of Membership and Communication

The purpose of this page is to elect a new Director of Membership and Communication to the Board of Directors of AHEAD in Texas. Each current AHEAD in Texas member can cast one vote. Please choose the selection that you feel is appropriate. Your email address will be used to verify a current membership with voting rights.

Director of Membership and Communication

The Director of Membership and Communication serves a 2 year term and is the communication liaison between the organization’s Board and the general membership as well as between the organization and national AHEAD. This individual is responsible for recruiting membership, maintaining current membership database, maintaining the listserve, and assisting with conference planning.

Candidate 1: Laura Marquez Ramsey

Laura Marquez Ramsey excitedly began her new role as the Student Accessibility Specialist at Trinity University last October. Prior to that she worked for 19 years as the Director of the Academic Skills Center at Austin College where she also managed disability services for the campus. She is excited to be nominated for the Director of Membership and Communication for TX AHEAD because she would love to use her skills and experience promoting the growth of this exceptional organization. Working at small liberal arts colleges has taught her the value of interpersonal relationships and communication. Making those personal connections with people, hearing their voices, putting a face to a name is crucial to meeting goals and objectives. Throughout her 27-year career in higher education, she’s sat on and chaired many committees, recruited staff, developed and trained teams, and collaborated with institutional and non-institutional colleagues to achieve shared goals. She wants the opportunity to work for you as we continue to build and promote our leadership as service providers.

Candidate 2: Hollyann Davis

Hollyann Davis is a Disability Coordinator at Kilgore College. She has been an engaged member of AHEAD in Texas for over 20 years and is excited about the opportunity to give back to the organization and its members if selected for this position.

We're sorry. Voting closed on 5/20/22 at 5:00pm.
